The Ugly Duckling and me (Danish: Den grimme ælling og mig) is an animated movie produced in 2006 which won an award at the China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival. Intended for a family audience, it is a modern adaptation of The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. It was directed by Michael Hegner and Karsten Kiilerich.[1] The Yorkshire Post described it as a "feel good" film for family audiences.[2] The film is based on a television series of the same name. The series chronicles the adventures of a spunky duckling named Ugly who looks a little weird and his father (sort of) who happens to be a rat named Ratso. This series can now be seen on three DVDs, each containing three episodes. The first DVD, "School Days," includes the following episodes: "Ugly's First Day at School," "Educating Ratso," and "What Would Ratso Do?" The second DVD, "Yard Party," includes the following episodes: "Chicken Party," "Hypnosis," and "What's Up, Duck?" And last but certainly not least, the DVD "Love is in the Air," includes the following episodes: "Married with Peep," "Big Red Rooster," and "The Ring and I."
